Java Developer 

The role is for a Java developer working in the US Rates development team. The candidate will join the existing global team of developers in the design, development and implementation of a multi-tiered Java application as well as supporting the existing Rates Services. 

 

Rates Services team is part of the group that supports the global trading of interest rates derivatives products. Rates Services are the server layer that plays a crucial role in the new generation of the rates trading applications.

 

The global development and support team spans the world. This role will participate in supporting the current system and in designing and developing the global sales trader workflow project.  

The person joining the team is expected to be a team player with strong technical skill set. The candidate should have solid problem solving abilities and be able to work independently. A strong communication skill is expected. Since the team closely works with other developers in C++ and C# knowledge of these programming languages is desirable.

 

Position Requirements:

 

Solid understanding of the fundamentals of OO and Java programming

 

Experience in server-side java and frameworks (J2EE or Spring)

 

Extensive experience of messaging (Tibco RV and JMS)

 

Strong knowledge and experience with WebServices and XML APIs

 

Experience developing with major databases and familiar with data persistence frameworks and APIs

 

Well versed in team development concepts, e.g. continuous build, test development, etc.

 

Knowledge and in grid computing, especially DataSynapse products, a plus

 

Knowledge in finance, fixed income and derivative products a strong plus.

 

Basic Fixed Income knowledge required.
